Inspiration from my paw-paw

The past few days I have been thinking about my grandfather. Early this week during my quiet time, I was thinking about my blessings and his poem came into my head. I found a copy of the poem to share with my prayer group. Here are the words for you to enjoy.

You never know what might inspire you. I challenge you to read something different. Read the Bible. Find some great poetry. Something that challenges your mind and touches your soul!

Some reading from my trip

I hope that everyone is finding some time to read this summer. I have been reading lots of great things. Here are some pictures of things I read on my mini vacation to Virginia/Pennsylvania.

Check out the VERY interesting directions for the public potty. It was HI-larious, Highly funny! Definitely a first for me!

I also read lots of historical signs and things like that.

Summer Reading Challenge

Join me on a summer Reading challenge!
This summer we want to have fun with reading. I challenge our Snow Heights students to find reading everywhere this summer.

Here is how it works:
Summer reading challenge is from June 4th – August 24th – 12 weeks
The challenge is to find some different reading for each of the 12 weeks. I have provided a suggestion list, but feel free to find your own reading and your own love of all things reading.
Now here is the extra fun part…we are going to link this with all of our fun technology. Work with your parents on the following…

Follow us on Instagram snowheightslibrary
Follow us on Twitter @snowheightslib
And find the library’s blog http://snowheightslibrary.blogspot.com/

I want you and your family to take pictures, short video, or just give a shout out of you reading. Use #SHEsumread

**Each week I will be sending out surprise challenges and posting pictures and video of myself reading all around town and around the country. I think some of the teachers will be participating too. So watch on Instagram, Facebook, and the Blog for all kinds of exciting reading adventures.

When we return to school in August there will be some prizes and lots of fun celebrating our great readers.

***Parents please e-mail me your pictures or descriptions of reading activities and let me know if I can post them. I am going to keep a list of all the students that plan to participate.
